This news comes as a surprise to many, as the AirPods Pro have been using the Lightning port for charging since their release in 2019. The new USB-C charging port will make it easier to charge the AirPods Pro on the go, as USB-C is more widely available than the Lightning port.

Unfortunately, Apple has not announced any plans to upgrade the current AirPods 3 with USB-C charging. This means that those who own the AirPods 3 will still need to use the Lightning port for charging.
